Mad Hatter's Masks

My entertainment design portfolio is based on Lewis Carrol's famous book Alice and Wonderland. I chose this story for the topic of my portfolio because I found it a story that was open to interpretation as well as a place full or surreal quality.
In my Alice in Wonderland, everything is "Asian-ized", which brings an interesting twist to things.

The Mad Hatter is a master of bian lian, or face changing, a technique in which the mask wearer is able to swiftly change masks in a fraction of a second. Face changing has been a part of the Chinese Sichuan opera for nearly 300 years. The masks provide a variety of facial expressiosn, designs, and colors that reflect the wearer's mood.

In my Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter as a spectrum of masks for specific types of expressions, mood, and scenarios. He normally wears a default mask, but due to his eccentricity and whimsical mood swings, he switches masks constantly. (ignore the awful typos)
